Terms of service
Last updated 4 August 2026
The agreement
By installing Downlio on your Shopify store you agree to these terms. If you don’t, uninstall the app — that ends the agreement.
What the service does
Downlio delivers digital files to your customers after a paid order, stores those files on your behalf, and records delivery and download activity. We provide the mechanism; you remain responsible for the files themselves.
Your content
- You keep all rights to the files you upload. We claim none.
- You confirm you have the right to sell and distribute what you upload.
- You may not use Downlio to distribute malware, content that infringes someone else’s copyright, or material that is illegal where your customers receive it.
- We may remove content and suspend an account that breaches the above. Where we can, we’ll tell you first.
Plans and billing
- All charges are made through Shopify’s billing system and appear on your Shopify invoice.
- Paid plans include a 14-day free trial, once per store. Changing plans is prorated by Shopify.
- Storage and monthly delivery limits are per plan. Exceeding your storage blocks new uploads; exceeding your delivery limit pauses new deliveries until the period resets or you upgrade.
- Uninstalling cancels the subscription. We don’t refund part-months, and Shopify’s own billing terms apply.
Availability
We aim for continuous availability but don’t promise it. Delivery depends on Shopify, our hosting and storage providers, our email provider, and the recipient’s mail server — several of which are outside our control. Failed sends are retried automatically with backoff, and anything that ultimately fails is surfaced in your Deliveries view so you can act.
Data and deletion
The privacy policy covers what we collect and how long we keep it. In short: uninstall and everything is deleted after 30 days. Export what you need before that window closes.
Liability
Downlio is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose. We are not liable for lost profits, lost sales, or consequential damages.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes are emailed to the contact address on your store at least 14 days before they take effect.
